Over the next five years, 65% of enterprises will adopt a mobile device management (MDM) solution, according to Gartner, a research firm. With the increased functionality of smartphones, and the increasing popularity of tablets, much of the network traffic and corporate data that was once the primary domain of enterprise PCs is now being shifted to mobile devices. "The era of the PC has ended. Employees are becoming more mobile and looking for ways to still be connected wherever work needs to be done," said Phil Redman, research vice president at Gartner. "The convenience and productivity gains that mobile devices bring are too tempting for most companies and their employees. India is among the top three fastest growing Internet   markets in the world, a study by industry body   Assocham and ComScore   has said. "Among the Bric nations, India has been the fastest growing market adding over 18 million Internet users and growing at an annual rate of 41 per cent," the study said. The Internet user base in the country is approximately 125 million, the study added. "China added over 14 million users to reach 336 million Internet users by the end of July 2012. Russia and India show similar trends in online usage patterns along with similarities in e-commerce and payment types," it said. India is also among the top three fastest growing markets worldwide in the last 12 months, the study said. NEW DELHI: Google has some good news for developers in the country. The company has announced Indian developers can now sell their apps on Google's Android platform, Google Play. Till now, developers from India could only offer their apps for free downloads on the Google Play marketplace. In a post on Android Developers blog, Ibrahim Elbouchikhi, product manager of the Google Play team said, "Developers in India can sell paid applications, in-app products, and subscriptions in Google Play, with monthly payouts to their local bank accounts." Another important takeaway from the post was that Indian Android users can now pay for apps in the local currency. The blog post stated: "Along with seller support, we're also adding buyer's currency support for India."
