It is being said that the new iPad will be 7.2mm thick which makes it much slimmer than the 9.4 mm thick iPad. The headphone jack might just be located near the dock which will immediately mean a thinner tablet. The volume buttons of the upcoming device are also said to be separated, rather than the commonly used rocker.

2. Dock Port to Be Smaller

The dock connector for both the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini are expected to be smaller. The speculation regarding the number of pins that the dock connector would have is yet to be clarified by Apple.

According to the various rumors and speculations that are floating around the number of pins can be as much as 19 or just 8. Lesser number of pins would naturally mean a smaller dock. All this can be said with a degree of confidence after viewing the leaked photos of the dock port by the iResQ repair lab. So we are sure of one thing that the dock connector will definitely be smaller.

3. Will it be Seven Inches?

With the 7-inch tablets taking the market by storm, Apple decided that they didn’t want to be left behind. So on September 12th with the release of their iPad Mini they will also join the 7-inch tablet bandwagon. The tablet is rumored to have a 7.85 inch Retina Display.
